Old Mailroom Shelves transformed into functional, stylish and resourceful household storage!
I made a wrong turn on my way to Joannes Fabrics and came across this random parking garage. Not only was this the post office hub for Santa Monica, but also the resting place of these old industrial Mailroom Shelves. I could hardly control my excitement at first glance and knew I had to get at least one of these units into my apartment!
I quickly ran inside and spoke to the manager, who informed me that they had no use for them AND I may take a few off there hands! A couple minutes later I had two dusty shelves loaded into the truck. A sweet sea foam green unit and an orange beauty. After a rinse with a hose and a rag these shelves were ready to use. I never actually made it to Joannes Fabrics that day, I wish wrong turns always resulted in incredibles surprises!
Stylish, affordable (free in this case!), design solutions do exist! It pays to be resourceful!
